86 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A2~ N0. 11 TO THE, CRAW~ORD URBAN REDEVELO?MJ~NT PROJEC~ VA. R-53. WHEREAS, this Council ~y Resolution adopted August 9, 1967, approved ~he Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, ~-A. R-53, Portsmouth, Virginia, which plan has been amended previously; and ~IEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration aPProval a copy of an amended redevelopment plan for the project area~ dated October, 1979; and ~IqI~REAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority has re- solved that ~is amendment is in the best interest of the City's redevelop- ment efforts; and -~KqEREAS, said Amendment No. 11 has been c~refully reviewed and said Redevelopment Plan conforms to the general plan_for developer of the City of Portsmouth as a vfnole; and WHERFAS, in the judgment of this Council, i% is in the interest of the Ciilz and its inkabitants that said Amendment be ~pproved to expand the area of the Crawford Urban Renewal Project to include propemTQ; Hresent!y owned by Holiday /Jms Of America, the former Grants building and the Ne~ Fd~n building, and to provide for a set of general rehabilitation standards to guide subsequent reconstruction. N@~, %~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Ports- n~uth, Virginia: (1) ~at kmendment No. 11 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford urban Renewal Project, VA. R-53, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) _R~'~at the objectives of the Crawford Urban Renewal Projecfc \~t. R-53, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said amendment. (b) That Amendment No. 11 for the project area conforms to the general plan for the City of port~nOuth as a whole. (2) ~nat Amendment No. 11 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, IrA. R-53, having been duly reviev~d and considered, it is hereby approved, and the City Clerk is hereby ~rected to file a copy of said Amendment with the Minutes of this meeting. Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held November 13, 1979. Teste: City Clerk
