79 A RESOID~i~ION APPRCr~I~S A~I~!TDMFA]T NO. 3 TO %I{E CONSERVAT~fkN AND PgD~- MEN~ PLAN FOR THE ~OUNT HEP~4ON CCINSk~RVATION AND REDEVELOPI~ENT VA. R-69. WH~IEAS, this Council b_v resolution adopted Septe~ber 12, 1972, approve~ the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Mount He~raDn Project, Va. R-69, Port~sputh, Virginia, adopted by the Portsmouth Redevel~omen~ and Housing Authority; and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this bo~y for consideration and approval a copy of an amended Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the project area, adopted August 28, 1979, by the Portsmouth Re- development and Housing Autl~.ority; and ~, said Amendment No. 3 has bean carefully reviewed by this Council and said Conservation and Redevelopn~nt Plsn~ as amended, conforms to ~he general plsn for ~he development of the City as a %~hole; and W~HERFAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment ~]d Housing Authori%y has resolved that this s~n~nent is consistent with the improvement effort in the Mount Hermon Project~ and WHERF~AS, in the judgment of tbis Council it is in the best interest of the City and its inhabitants that said an~ndment be approved. NC~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir~o3nia, that k.~,endment No. 3 to the Conservation and Redevetotk~e~t Plan for the Mount He,mort Project, b~ving been duly reviewed ~nd considered, is hereby_ found: (a) %hat t/qe obj schives of the Btpunt Hermon Conser- vation and Redeve! _opment Project, Portsmouth, V~rginia, can be better ackieved by adootion of said ~) That A~=ndment No. 3 for the prelect area conforms to the 9aneral plan for the City of Port~r~uth as a whole.
