This Bond is one of an issue of Bonds aggregating Seven Million <br />Dollars ($7,000,000) in principal amount and issued for the purpose of <br />providing funds to pay the oost of various public improva~ent projects <br />of the City under and pursuant to end in full compliance with the <br />Constitution and statutes of the Ccamonweatth of Virginia, including <br />Chapter 5 of Title 15.1 o~ the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended (the <br />same being the Public Finance Act), end the Charter of the City, and <br />procee ~dings of the Council of the City duty adopted and taken under said <br />Chapter 5 ~-nd said Charter. <br /> <br /> The Bonds of %he issue of which this Bond is one maturing on and <br />after 5~rch 1, 1991; are subject to redemption at the option of the City <br />prior to their stated maturities on or after l~2~rch 1, 1990, in whole <br />at any time, or in psrt fr~m time to time on any interest payment date <br />in ~ny order determined by the City (except that if at any time less than <br />all of the Bonds of a maturity are called for redemption, the particular <br />Bonds of such maturity to be redeemed shall be selected by lot), upon <br />payment of the principal e-~aount of the Ponds to be redeemed together with <br />~e interest accrued thereon to ~he date fixed for rede~phion plus a <br />premium of one-quarter of one percent (1/4 of 1%) of the principal amount of <br />each Bond to be redeemed for each twelve (12) nonth period or fraction <br />thereof be~een the date fixed for redemption and the stated maturity <br />hereof° <br /> <br /> If this Bond is redeemgble end shall be called for redemption, <br />notice of the redemption hereof, specifying the date, number and maturity <br />of this Bond~ the date and place fixed for its redemption and the premium, <br />if any, payable u~_~x3n such redemption shall be given by the City by <br />publication of SuCh notice once in a newspaper printed in the English <br />language and cushDm~ily published on each business .day amd of general <br />circulation in the City, ~nd once in at least one newspaper or financial <br />publiCation prir~h~ in the ttn_glish lang~aage and customarily published on <br />each busLness day in the Cib3 of New York, New York, the date of pub- <br />lication of such notice in each case to be at least thirty days prior to <br />the date fixed for ~ ~' <br /> reae~onmon. If this Bond is then registered as to <br />principal only or as to bo~h principal and interest, notice of the <br />redeaption hereof shall be mailed not less than ~_hirty days prior to the <br />date fixed for redemption by registered mail to the registered ~ner of <br />this Bond at such oyster's address as storm on the books of registry; <br />provided~ however, ~at if this Bond shall then be registere~ and notice <br />of redemotion is ~i1~ as aforesaid, then notice of the red~ption <br />hereof need not be give~n l~f ?dblication, and if notice of redemt0tion is <br />given l~f publication as aforesaid~ ~nen if this Bond shall then be <br />registered the failure to _.7~il such notice as aforesaid or any defect <br /> <br /> <br />
