A RESOLUTIONAUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION <br />OF SIDEWALKS ALONG STRATFORD STREET FROM GREENWOOD DRIVE TO <br />MEDIAN CIRCLE ABUTTING 1300, 1302, 1304, 1306 STRATFORD STREET <br />WHERE STANDARD SIDEWALKS DO NOT NOW EXIST, ASSESSING THE <br />ABUTTING LAND OWNERS AT THE COST OF $3.00 PER FRONT LINEAL <br />FOOT, AND DIRECTING THAT AN ABSTRACT OF THIS RESOLUTION BE <br />RECORDED TOGETHER WITH A STATEMENT SHOWING THE ESTIMATED <br />AMOUNT THAT WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST EACH SUCH LANDOWNER. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by petition submitted in accordance with law <br />certain abutting landowners have petitioned the City of <br />Portsmouth to construct a sidewalk along Stratford Street <br />from Greenwood Drive to Median Circle abutting 1300, 1302, <br />1304, 1306 Stratford Street, where standard sidewalks do not <br />now exist, the cost thereof to be apportioned between the City <br />and the abutting landowners; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice has been duly given to the abutting land- <br />owners, as provided by law, that a hearing would be held <br />before the Council of the City of Portsmouth on January 22, <br />1980, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said hearing was duly held and in the judgment <br />of the Council the said sidewalk should be constructed. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth: <br /> <br /> Section 1: That the construction of a sidewalk along <br />Stratford Street from Greenwood Drive to Median Circle <br />abutting 13Q0, 1302, ~304, 1306 Stratford Street, where <br />standard sidewalks do not now exist, is hereby authorized. <br /> <br /> Section 2: That the abutting landowners shall be <br />assessed at the rate of $3.00 per front lineal foot pursuant <br />to a petition signed by seventy-five (75%) percent of the <br />property owners affected by the requested improvements. <br /> <br /> Section 3: That the City Clerk shall forthwith cause <br />to be recorded an abstract of this resolution, together with <br />a statement showing the ownership and location of the property <br />to be-affected by the proposed sidewalk and the estimated <br />amount that will be assessed against each abutting lando%~er <br />in accordance with the statement thereof on file in her <br />office. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Counci'l of the City of Portsmouth at a <br />meeting held January 22, 1980 <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
