8 A RESOLUTION. AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~PLANAG~ER TO RELEASE A DRAINAGE EASEMENT ON CHOWAN DRIVE NEAR AIRLINE BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, by the easement dated January 17, 1973, recorded in Deed Book 613, P.-361, %he City of~Portsmouth obtained a 15' drainage easement along the northern property line of property owned by Clarence R. Crawford and Mollie L. Crawford; and WHEREAS, this easement was designed~as part of the Airline Boulevard drainage project; and WHEREAS, subsequent to obtaining the hereinabove described easement, the Airline Boulevard drainage project was redesigned leaving this easement with no further use or benefit in the project; WHEREAS, the contract purchaser of the property over which this easement is located has requested a release of the easement; and WHEREAS, the said rights-of-way and easement are no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and are, hereby, declared to be surplus. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and hereby is authorized to enter into a release of drainage easement on property on Chowan Drive near Airline Boulevard, said property being more fully described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the west side of Chowan Drive with 'the north side of Airline Boule- v~rd; thence north 0° 19' 30" west along the western ri. gh~-of-way of Chowan Drive a distance of 289.40' to a point, said point being the true point of beginning: thence north 77° 47' 00" west 294.00' to a point on the western line of the property now or formerly owned by C. R. Crawford; thence north 5° 50' 19" west along the western line of said property 15.09' to a point; thence south 77° 47' 00~' east 295.66' to a point on the western right- of--way of Chowan Drive; thence north 0© 19' 30'~ east along said r~ght-of-way a distance of 15.37' ~o the true point of beginning.
