A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-O~ED PROPERTY AT 3100 BALLARD AVENUE (MAP PARCEL 564-008) TO THE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter- described property located in the Hattonsville Industrial Corridor; and WHEREAS, of Portsmouth property; and WHEREAS, the said land is no longer needed by the City and it is, therefore, declared to be surplus the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth will be able to market the property for industrial development; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth will be compensated for this property in the amount of Eight Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars ($8,700.); and WHEREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that a City may convey property to the Commonwealth of Virginia or any political subdivision thereof, without advertisement and without receiving bids; and WHEREAS, the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth is a political subdivision of the Common- wealth of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described. property to the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth: Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmoutht Virginia, known according to the present street numbering system of the City of Portsmouth as 3100 Ballard Avenue, more particularly described by reference to a plat entitled, "Plat Showing Property Conveyed to Southern Space, Inc.", prepared by the Engineering And Technical Services Department of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, attached hereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to complete all transactions and execute all documents incident to such conveyance.
