46 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-OWNED <br />PROPERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />(RESIDUE PARCEL LONDON BOULEVARD, MOUNT HE~ON REDEUELOPMENT <br />PROJECT). <br /> <br /> WHE ~REAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain real property, <br />hereinafter-described, purchased in connection with the London <br />Boulevard Street widening project, which property is no longer <br />required by the City for p~blic use, and is hereby declared to <br />be surplus property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said property is located within the boundaries of <br />the Mount Hermon Redevelopment Project and may b~ used in con- <br />junction with adjacent proper£~-b~ PortsmoUth Redevelopment and <br />Housing Authority to compile disposable parcels to be privately <br />owned and developed; and <br /> <br /> ~Et~EAS, the City of Portsmouth will be compensated for' <br />the sale of this property by the pa~ent of One Hundred Twelve <br />Dollars ($112.O0); and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of <br />Portsmouth provides that the City may convey property to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia or any political subdivision thereof, <br />without advertisement and without receiving bids; and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority <br />is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />is, authorized to convey the following described property to the <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />with the improvements thereon, situate, lying, <br />and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />bounded and described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at ~ point bearing N 0047'55'' <br />E at a distance of 87' from the northwest inter- <br />section of Sumler Street (undeveloped) and Glasgow <br />Street; thence running S 88023'55'' W 30' to a <br />point; thence running N 0~47'55" E 23' to a point; <br />thence running N 88~23'55'' E 30' to a point on the <br />western boundary of Sumle~ Street; thence running <br />along said western boundary of Sumler Street S <br />0047'55'' W 23' to the point of beginning. The <br />same parcel is shown and entitled "Residue" on <br />that. certain plat entitled "Plat Showing Land Owned <br />By L. No Wilson", which plat is recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the C~ty <br /> <br /> <br />
