45 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO THE MOUNT HEkMON CONSERVATION AMD REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE MOUNT HERMON CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT ~ROJECT% WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted May 16, 1972, approved a Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project, Ports- mouth, Virginia; and WHERF2tS, there has been presented to this body, for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Land Use Map (Exhibit No. 2) of the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the project area, dated June, 1981; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 4 proposes to delete a land use from the Land Use Map, Exhibit No. 2; and WHEREAS, no other changes to the Plan or Plan Exhibits are required; and WHER~AS~ said Amendment No. 4 has been carefully re- viewed and said Redevelopment Plan conforms to the general ~lan for development of the City of Portsmouth as a whole; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amendment is in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and WHER~S, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provmsions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974~ as amended, including those pro- hibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it zs in interest of mhe City and its inhabitants that the said A~:endment be approved. the NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That kmendment No. 4 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and coJsidered, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Mount Hermon Conser- vation and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said kmendment.
