21 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR T~E CLOSING OF A PORTION <br />OF THORNE AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Holy Trinity Church has made application <br />to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Thorne Avenue, and it appearing that Notice of <br />Application and Request for the Appointment of Viewers was <br />duly posted on February 13, 1981, on %he bulletin board of <br />the City Hall Building of the City of Portsmouth, the <br />bulletin board of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court <br />of the City of Portsmouth and the bulletin board of the <br />General District Court of the City of Portsmouth, Civil <br />Division. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that A. N. Kendrick, Lewis J. Leitner, <br />C. H. Harriston, James H. Griffin and James L. Linehan, be ap- <br />poinned viewers, and that Howard L. Davis be appointed an alter- <br />nate vzewer in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to <br />participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Thorne Avenue and to report to this Council in <br />writing whether in %heir opinion any, and if any, what incon- <br />venience wo~!d result in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />THORNE AVENUE <br /> <br /> All that section of Thorne Avenue beginning at <br />a point 115' west of the west right-of-way line of <br />Main Street and continuing westerly for a distance <br />of 154' to the rear lot line of Academy Park properties <br />fronting on DeKalb Avenue.
