81 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT TO ST. JAMES <br />TO OPERATE A C~URCH AND PLACE OF WORSHIP AT 928 <br />STREET. <br /> <br />P. E. CHURCH <br />EFFINGHAM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. James P.-E. Church made an application <br />pursuant to ~40-70(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />1973, as amended, for the granting of a use permit as herein- <br />after-described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and Planning Director have done <br />all things required to be done in connection with said appli- <br />cation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREA~, the Planning Comraission has recommended the <br />granting of said use permit. .~- <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by t//e Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the use for which the use permit hereinafter- <br />described is sought: <br /> <br /> (a) Will not adversely affect the health and <br />safety of persons residing and working in the neighborhood <br />of the proposed use; <br /> <br /> (b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or <br />injurious to the property or improvements in the neighborhood; <br />and <br /> <br /> (c) Will be in accord with the purposes o~ the <br />Zoning Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br /> 2. That St. James P. E. Church is hereby granted a use <br />permit pursuant to ~40-70(b) of the Code of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, 1973, to operate a church and place of worship on <br />property described herein: <br /> <br />UP-81-16 <br /> <br /> Beginning on the west side. of Effingham Street <br />200', more or lessr south from its intersection with <br />South Street; thence south along said right-of-way <br />60'; thence in a southwesterly direction 265' along <br />Interstate 264 right-of-way; thence north 308', more <br />or less; thence east 90', more or less; thence south <br />10', more or less; thence east 60.18' to Effingham <br />Street, the Point of Origin. <br /> <br /> <br />
