71 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TEE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY PROPERTY <br />TO THE PORTSMOUTH PORT AND INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has purchased the herein- <br />after-described property pursuant to a Memorandum of Intent <br />dated 1977 with the Virginia Port Authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the purchase price for said property was obtained <br />from the "Sea-Land F~nd" pursuant to said Memorandum of Intent; <br />and <br /> <br /> WttEREAS, the Virginia Port Authority has requested that <br />the hereinafter-described property be included under the terms <br />of a Lease Agreement between the Virginia Port Authority and <br />the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission da~ed November 4, <br />1975; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.O9(c) of the Charter of <br />the City of Portsmouth, property may be conveyed to the Common- <br />wealth of Virginia or a political subdivision thereof without <br />advertisement or receipt of bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission <br />is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is, authorized to conveythe following described <br />property to the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission; <br />said property to be ~[ncl-uded in a Lease Agreement between <br />the Virginia Port Authority and the Portsmouth Port and In- <br />dustrial Commission dated November 4, 1975: <br /> <br /> Ail those certain lots, pieces or parcels of <br />land known, numbered and designated as ~ots 113, <br />114, 183, 184, and 211 on the plat of Pinners Point <br />Waterfront Company, recorded in Map Book 4, Page 32, <br />in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the <br />City of Chesapeake, Virginia. <br /> <br /> All those certain lots, pieces or parcels of <br />land known, numbered and designated as Lots 231 <br />and 336 on the plat of Portsmouth Waterfront Land <br />Company, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Cir- <br />cuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in <br />Map Book 3, Page 91. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to sign such deed as may be necessary to <br />complete this transaction. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held September 8, 1981. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
