5~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR, RECEIVE AND <br />EXPEND FUNDS FROM FEDERAL, STATE AND OTHER AGENCIES NOT <br />PRESENTLY BUDGETED IN THE 1981-82 SCHOOL BUDGET; DIRECTING <br />THE SCHOOL BOARD TO REPORT RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF SUCH <br />FUNDS TO THE CITY ¥~ANAGER. <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, educational funds from a variety of governmental <br />agencies become available during the fiscal year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in many occasions, priority of funding is based <br />upon timely application. <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the~School Board of the <br />City of Portsmouth is authorized to make application for, <br />receive and expend funds from Federal, State and other govern- <br />mental agencies not presently budgeted in the 1981-82 School <br />Budget. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Schools <br />is directed to adv]se the City Manager of ~he receipt and <br />expenditure of such funds- <br /> <br /> This resolution shall become effective from the date of <br />its ad~tion~ <br /> <br /> Adopted ~y the Council of the City of PortsmoUth, <br />Vir~inia~ at a meeting held July 14, 1981. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
