A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-OWNED PROPERTY (RESIDUE PARCELS ON LONDON BOULEVARD) TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter- described parcels of property on the south side of London Boule- vard; said parcels being residue parcels from the acquisition of property for the construction of London Boulevard; and WBE~AS, said property is no longer needed by the City and is, kereby, declared to be excess property; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made a proposal to purchase said property for the sum of one hundred ($100.) doliars~ to be combined-with other property for development purposes; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has deter- mined that it is in the best interest of the City to convey said property to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for development purposes; and WHEREAS, Section 2.09 of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, provides that property may be conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia or a political subdivision thereof without advertisement and receipt of bids; and WHEREAS, %he Portsmouth Redevelopment and ~ousing Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described property to the POrtsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the sum of one hundred ($100.) dollars; to-wit: Ail of the City's right, title and interest in and to all of those certain lots, pieces or parcels, lying, situate and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and more particularly described as follows, to-wi%: LOTS 4, 5, 6, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 as shown on the plat of F. Richardson's Subdivision of Block "K" of the Bishop Tract, which is recorded ~n the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 3, at page 90; TOGETHER WITH all that certain piece or parcel of land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia bounded and described as follows:
