83 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINI-A, TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR, RECEIVE AND <br />EXPEND FL~NDS FROM FEDERAL, STATE AND OTHER AGENCIES NOT <br />PRESENTLY BUDGETED IN THE 1982-83 SHCOOL BUDGET; DIRECTING <br />THE SCHOOL BOARD TO REPORT RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF SUCH <br />FUNDS TO THE CITY ~NAGER. <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, educational funds from a variety of governmental <br />agencies become available during the fiscal year; and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, in many occasions, priority of funding is based <br />upon timely application. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, that the School Board of the <br />City of Portsmouth is authorized to make application for, <br />receive and expend funds from Federal~ State and other <br />governmental agencies not presently budgeted in the 1982-83 <br />School Budget. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Schools <br />is directed to advise the City Manager of the receipt and <br />expenditure of such funds. <br /> <br /> This resolution shall become effective from the date <br />of its adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held October 12, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
