8O <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY PROPERTY <br />(807 FOURTH STREET AND 329 FAYETTE STREET) TO PORTSMOUTH RE- <br />DEVELOP~4ENTAND HOUSING AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City owns certain real property located at <br />807 Fourth Street and 329 Fayette Street which property ig <br />no lon?er required by the City and is, hereby, declared to <br />be excess~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing~uthority <br />has offered to purchase said property for the sum of Seven <br />Hundred ~enty Dollars ($720.00) for 807 Fourth Street and <br />One Thousand Ninety Dollars ($1,090.00) for 329 Fayette <br />Street for the purpose of development of the Southside IV <br />Redevelopment Project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the City of Portsmouth <br />provides that property may be sold to the Commonwealth of <br />Virginia or a political subdivision thereof without advertisement <br />and receipt of bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City ~4anager be, and <br />he hereby is, autP~oDized to convey the hereinafter described <br />property to PortsmouthRedevelopment and Housing Authority <br />for the ~unts stated herein, to-wit: <br /> <br /> All that certain lot of land with the im- <br />purtenences and improvements thereon bounded and <br />described as. follows: <br /> <br /> Beginni%]g at a point on the east side of <br />Fourth Street at the southwest corner of the lot <br />conveyed to John S. White and Mollie May Winn, <br />wife of Frank J. Winn, by deed dated May 17, 1892, <br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in <br />Deed Book 24, Page 151, said 71.2 feet, more or <br />less, from the southeast intersection (property <br />· ine) of~Fourth Street and Fayette Streets; <br />thence running southerly along the east side <br />of Fourth Street 25 feet to the line of the lot <br />devised to Henry E. White by John S. White; <br />thence easterly and parallel with Fayette Street <br />90 feet; thence northerly 25 feet to the lines <br />of the said Winn lot; thence westerly along the <br />line of said Winn lot 90 feet to the point of <br />beginning, being known according to the present <br />street numbering system of the City of Ports- <br />mouth as 807 Fourth Street. <br /> <br /> <br />
