77 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTIONRATIFYIN~ THE AUTHORIZATIONS PREVIOUSL~Fa~DE FOR <br />THE CITY TO APPLYTO THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGE~'CY FOR <br />FEDERAL FUNDS TO CONSTRUCT WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITIES; <br />AUTEORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />TO DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY TO APPI~ ,FOR SUCH GRANT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has pre- <br />viously authorized its City Manager and Director of Public <br />Utilities to sign an application for federal funds for the <br />cons%ruction of wastewater treatment facilities; and <br /> <br /> Wa~EAS, an application is now being made for Phase III <br />of the plan for the construction ofwaste water treatment <br />facilities. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Council ratifies the authorizations <br />previously made for the City to apply ko the Environmental <br />Protection Agency for federal funds to construct waste water <br />treatment facilities. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER BESOLVED that George L. Hanbury, City Manager, <br />and J. A. Howell, Jr., Director of Public Utilities, are author- <br />ized to complete all transactions and execute all documents <br />incident to applying for federal grants for the construction <br />of waste water treatment facilities. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />st a meeting held September 14, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
