67 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT A UTILITY <br />EASEMENT TO THE UNITED STATES OF-AMERICA, DEPARTMENT OF THE <br />NAVY, FOR INSTALLATION OF SANITARY SEWER LINES ON A PORTION <br />OF ELM AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the United States of America, Department of <br />the Navy, has made application for installation of sanitary <br />sewer lines along a portion of Elm Avenue to serve the <br />Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said plans for installation of the utilities <br />have been approved by the Public Utilities Department and <br />the Department of Engineering and Technical Services of the <br />City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the installation of said sewer facilities <br />required an easement on property owned by the City of Ports- <br />mouth in the vicinity of Elm Avenue and the property now <br />or formerly owned by the Atlantic Creosoting'Company. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br /> City of Portsmouth, Virginiar that the City Manager be, and <br /> he hereb~ is, authorized to sign an easement agreement <br /> between the City of Portsmouth, Virginia and the United <br /> States of America, Department of the Navy, for installation <br /> of sanitary sewer lines along, across and under a portion <br /> of Elm Avenue; said easement being more particularly described <br /> by reference to Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "B" attached hereto <br /> entitled "Plat Showing Sanitary Sewer Force Main Easement <br /> At Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia". <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and <br /> he hereby is, authorized to sign such agreements as may be <br /> necessary to convey said easement. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> at a'meeting held August 10, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
