66 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ENDORSINGTHE KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL INCORPORATED <br />PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING TH~ITYMANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION <br />FOR FUNDING. <br /> <br /> WHE~.~AS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />has created the Clean Corm~unity Commission to assist with <br />litter control problems within the boundaries of the City; <br />and <br /> ?~EP~AS, the Virginia Litter Control Act of 1976 provides <br />through the Department of Conservation and Econo~ic Development, <br />Division of Litter Control, for the allocation of public funds <br />in the form of grants for the purposes of enhancing local <br />litter control programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is eligible to submit <br /> a grant application for funding for 1982 pursuant to the <br /> regulations governing the administratioh and use of such <br /> funds. <br /> NOW, TtTEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br /> City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the Council does hereby <br /> endorse the Keep America Beautiful Incorporated Program in <br /> the City of Portsmouth. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City ~anager be, and he <br /> hereby is, authorized to submit an application for funding <br /> pursuant to said program. <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> at a meeting held July 27, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
