55 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO DINWIDDIE PLAZA <br />APARTMENTS FOR OFF-STREET PARKING IN THE DOWNTOWN D-1 DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Dan E. Griffin, agent for Dinwiddie Plaza Hotel, <br />has made application for the granting of a special ~xception <br />to the off-street parking requirements for the Dlnwlddi~ ~l~z~ <br />Hotel pursuant to ~40-121 (.5) (c) in the Downtown D-1 District; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, t~e applicant and the Planning Directo~ have done <br />all thing~ required to be done in connection with said appli- <br />cation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has made a recommendation <br /> ranting of a special exception to the off-street parking <br /> <br />fore,he g <br />requirem~ <br /> <br /> NOW, <br />of PortsH <br /> <br /> i. <br /> <br />of perso~ <br /> <br />injuriou <br />and <br /> <br />of the D( <br /> <br />exceptlo~ <br />D-1 Dist~ <br />ception] <br /> <br />property <br />be devel. <br />retired <br /> <br />nfs. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />outh, Virginia: <br /> <br /> That the special exception to be granted: <br /> <br /> (a) Will not adversely affect the health and safety <br /> residing or working in the neighborhood; <br /> <br /> (~) will not be detrimental to the public use or <br /> to the property or improvements in the neighborhood; <br /> <br /> Will be in accord with the purposes and objectives <br />ntown D-1 District. <br /> <br /> Dinwiddie.Plaza Hotel is hereby granted a special <br />l.to the off~street p~rking requirements to the Downtown <br />~lCt as provided for xn ~0-12I (5) (c), such special ex- <br />~eing approved subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />('a) The existing Dinwiddie Hotel and the adjacent <br />currently being used as the Hotel's parking lot will <br />)ped into a 199 unit apartment complex for elderly and <br />)ersons. <br /> <br /> (b) The developer shall provide 19 spaces on site <br />of the ~w complex and at least 10 additional spaces in the <br />City-owned parking lot on King Street. <br /> <br /> <br />
