A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR THE CLOSING OF A <br />PORTION OF ACADEMY AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made application_ <br />to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Academy Avenue, and it appearing that notice of <br />application and request for the appointment of viewers has <br />been duly advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that A. N. Kendrick, J. R. <br />Wi!kerson, Howard L. Davis, George N. Powers, Sr. and C. <br />Knight be appointed viewers and that H. G. Hariston and <br />C. E. Ellis be appointed alternate viewers in the event <br />one of the preceding viewers fails to participate, said <br />viewers to view the hereinafter-described portion of such <br />street and to report to this Council in writing whether in <br />their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would <br />result in the vacating and closing of the following: <br /> <br /> All that portion of Academy ~venue be- <br /> tween Campbell Street on the north and Church- <br /> land Boulevard on the south.
