108 A RESOLUTION APPROV!NGAMENDMENT NO. 3 TO THE SOUTHSIDE III REDEVELOP~4ENT PLAN FOR THE SOUTHSIDE III REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. wHEREAS, this Council by resolution adop~e_d F~bruary 24, 1976, approved a Redevelopment Plan for the S0~hslde III Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia; and WHEREAS~. there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Redevelop- ment Plan for the project area, which plan consists Of 17 pages and 2 exh_blts; and ~ WHEREAS, A~endauen% No. 3 proposes to add certain property to the project area; and ~ER~_~AS, the Portsmouth Redeve~opment and Eousing A~thority has resolved that %his Amendment is in the best interest of the C~ty's renewal effort; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Co~uunity Development Act of 1974~ as amended, including those pro- hibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and ~EREAS, in the judgment of this Council interest of the City and its inhabitants that Amenftment is approved. it is in the the said NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 3 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Southside III Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Southside III Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment. (b) That Amendment No. 3 for the project area meets the requirements as a Redevelopment Project under Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 2. That Amendment No. 3 to the Southside III Redevelop- ment Plan for the Southside III Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting.
