100 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY- OW~ED PROPERTY (PLOVER DRIVE) . WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter- described real property located on the West side of Plover Drive; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth no longer has need for said property for its public uses and purposes, and the same is hereby declared to be surplus; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public advertisement as required by ~2.09 of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth, said property was advertised for sale; and ~qEREAS, the highest offers for the purchase of said property were: PARCEL I. Paul E. La~son and Virginia Lawson in the amount of $655.36; PARCEL II and III. Robert O. Basham in the amount of $200.00; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems it to be in the best interest of the City to accept the offers made for the purchase of said property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the hereinafter-described property: To Paul E. Lawson and Virginia Lawson for the sum of $655.36: PARCEL I Ail that certain piece or parcel of land bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING at the intersection of the west- ern right-of-way of Plover Drive and the southern right-of-way of Nortl~ Street; thence N 55o22'00'' west, a distance of 43.48' to the True Point of Beginning; thence S 89°08'19'' West, a distance of 117.48' to a point off the eastern right-of- way of the Elizabeth River Tunnel Commission property; thence along the aforementioned right- of-way N 9°11'23'' east, a distance of 75.54' to a point; thence S 55o22'00'' east, a distance of 128.10' to the True Point of Beginning. Said parcel containing 4,369.10 square feet.
