<br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF WARREN G. GIBSON TO PURCHASE
<br />CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 4805 WEST NORFOLK ROAD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
<br />MANAGER TO CONVEY.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City owns certain property located at 4805 West
<br />Ncrfolk Road, which property is no longer required for public
<br />purDpses and is, hereby, declared to be excess property; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of the City of Portsmouth said
<br />property has been advertised for sale and bids have been received; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the highest bid recei%ed was from Warren G. Gibson in
<br />the amount of $58,000.00; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems it to be in
<br />the best interest of the City to accept the bid of Warren G. Gibson
<br />and sell the hereinafter described property.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the bid of Warren G. Gibson to purchase
<br />City-owned property at 4805 West Norfolk Road for the sum of
<br />$58,000.00 be, and the same hereby is, accepted.
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby
<br />is, authorized to convey to Warren G. Gibson the following described
<br />property, to-wit:

<br /> Ail those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land,
<br />with the improvements, situate, lying and being in the
<br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, known, numbered and designated
<br />as lots 108 and 109 on that certain plat entitled "Replat of
<br />Lots 48 through 147, Inclusive, 155 through 162, Inclusive,
<br />213 through 218, Inclusive, Subdivision of Section 2, Castle
<br />Heights", recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit
<br />Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 41,
<br />page 85, save and except therefrom, all those certain
<br />parcels designated as parcels 034 and 036 as shown on that
<br />certain plat entitled "Plat Showing Proposed Right-of-Way
<br />Expansion for West Norfolk Road" dated July 11, 1983,
<br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the
<br />City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 12, pages 68
<br />through 71, both inclusive.
<br />
<br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at
<br />meeting held May 14, 1985.
