122 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY <br />OWNED PROPERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT & HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY (FIREHOUSE LANE). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has previously conveyed to <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority certain <br />property at the intersection of Firehouse Lane and Green <br />Street in connection with the Northside Redevelopment <br />Project, VA.R-39; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain additional property, <br />hereinafter-described, is necessary to facilitate <br />residential development under construction on said <br />property; and <br /> <br />the <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said property <br />City for public purposes and <br />excess property; and <br /> <br />is no longer required by the <br />is, hereby declared to be <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority of §2.09 (c) of <br />the Charter of the City of Portsmouth real property may <br />be conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia or a <br />political subdivision thereof without advertisement and <br />receipt of bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing <br />Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth <br />of Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing <br />Authority has agreed to pay one dollar twenty-five cents <br />($1.25) per square foot, equivalent to the original per <br />square foot price for sale of the previous disposition <br />parcel for this p~oject. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager <br />be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the <br />hereinafter-described property to Portsmouth <br />Redevelopment & Housing Authority; <br /> <br />PARCEL 1 <br /> <br /> Ail that <br />land, situate, <br />of Portsmouth, <br />as follows: <br /> <br />certain piece or parcel of <br />lying and being in the City <br />Virginia, bounded and described <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at the northwest inte~- <br />section of Green Street and Firehouse Lane; <br />thence along the northern boundary of <br />Firehouse Lane south 87° 03' 03" west 240.13' <br />to the True Point of Beginning; thence <br /> <br /> <br />
