46 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALTON SMITH TO PURCHASE <br />CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 1232 WILCOX AVENUE; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City owns certain hereinafter-described <br />real property located at 1232 Wilcox Avenue, which property <br />is no longer needed for public purposes and is, hereby, <br />declared to be excess property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of the City of <br />Portsmouth said property has been advertised for sale; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the highest bid received was from Alton Smith <br />in the sum of $1,090.; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems <br />it to be in the best interests of the City to sell said <br />property. <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cohncil of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the bid of Alton Smith <br />to purchase City-owned property located at 1232 Wilcox <br />Avenue foe the sum of $1,090. be, and the same hereby is, <br />accepted. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER'RESOLVED that th~ City Manager be, <br />he hereby is, authorized to convey the <br />hereinafter-described property to Alton Smith: <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of <br />land, situate, lying and being in the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, described as lot 143 as <br />s~own on that certain plat entitled <br />"Portsmouth Land and Improvement Company" <br />recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit <br />Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in <br />Map Book 2, pages 58 and 59. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at~a meeting held May 28, 1985. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
