AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 40-17 THEREOF AND ADDING THERETO SECTIONS 40-83 AND 40-141 PERTAINING TO THE PLANNED OFFICE PARK DISTRICT AND PURPOSE AND DIMENSION REQUIREMENTS THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 40-17 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by adding new zoning district designated Planned Office Park District ("POP") to read as follows: Section 40-17. Districts and purposes. In order to implement the intent of this Chapter, the City is hereby divided into nineteen (19) classes of districts with the designations and general purposes listed below and permitted uses set forth in this Chapter. DISTRICT PURPOSE Planned Office Park District ("POP") To provide for a well plan- ned and tightly controlled office park development at a scale compatible with resi- dential development as well as attractive to office de- velopment in park-like set- tings. Virginia, follows: 1973, That Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, be amended by adding thereto Section 40-83 to read as Section 4~-83. Planned Office Park District ("POP"). (a) Purpose. The purpose of this district is to provide for a well-planned and tightly controlled office park development at a scale compatible with residential development as well as attractive to office development in park-like settings. (b) Permitted uses. within the Planned Office Park District I"POP") the following uses are permitted upon approval of Site Master Plan as provided for in this section. Accessory services clearly incidental to a permitted use, such as restaurants, personal services, postal substation, and branch banks conducted solely for the convenience of the employees, patients, patrons and visitors on the premises and wholly within the principal building and without exterior advertising display.
