Section 4-68. Impoundment of unvaccinated dogs; redemption; <br /> disposal. <br /> <br /> Any dog over six (6) months old found within the limits <br />of the City without evidence that such dog has been vaccinated <br />or inoculated in accordance with the provisions of this division <br />shall be impounded by the animal warden, any police officer, <br />or other authorized person for a period not exceeding seven <br />(7) days, during which time suck dog may be returned to its <br />owner upon proof of ownership, vaccination of the dog, pay- <br />ment of such owner of the cost of keeping such dog at the <br />rate of three dollars ($3.00) for the first day, and one <br />dollar ($1.00) for each additional day or any part thereof, <br />together with the payment of any fines lawfully assessed against <br />such owner under the provision of this division. At the expi- <br />ration of said seven (7) day period, any dog not so claimed <br />by its owner may be disposed of by giving it into the custody <br />of any person who would pay for the cost of impo~nding such <br />dog and the vaccination thereof. If any such dog is not so <br />disposed of, such dog shall become the property of the Ports- <br />mouth Humane Society, Inc. and may be humanely disposed of. <br /> <br /> 2.
