AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
<br />PORTSMOUTH, vIRGINIA, 1973, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING
<br />SECTIONS 17-16 (b) , 17-17 (b) , 17-18 (103.1) , 17-18
<br />(103.2) (a), 17-18 (104), 17-18 (107) (a), 17-20,
<br />17-22, 17-31, 17-36, 17-46, 17-48, 17-50 AND 17-51
<br />THEREOF, PERTAINING TO HOUSING.

<br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Ccuncil of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, virginia:
<br /> That Sections 17-16 (b), 17-17 (b),
<br />17-18 (103.1), 17-18 (103.2) (a), 17-18 (104), 17-18
<br />(107) (a), 17-20, 17-22, 17-31, 17-36, 17-48, 17-50 and
<br />17-51 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />1973, be amended and reordained to read as follows:
<br /> Section 17-16 (b). Southern Standard Housing Code -
<br /> Adoption by Reference; Availability
<br /> of Copies.
<br /> copies of aforementioned Southern Standard
<br /> Housing Code, 1969 Edition, may be obtained at the
<br /> Department of Housing Services and community
<br /> ~ d Portsmouth Virginia,
<br /> Development, 801 ~rawfor Street, '
<br /> between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday
<br /> through Friday.
<br />
<br /> Section 17-17 (b). Same - Definitions.
<br /> (b) V~ere the words "Building official" are
<br /> used in the Southern Standard Housing Code, 1969
<br /> Edition, hereby adopted, except Section 101 hereof, they
<br /> shall be held to mean the Director of Housing Services
<br /> and Community Development, who is hereby designated to
<br /> enforce said Code.
<br />
<br />Section 17-18. Same - Amendments.
<br />Section 103.1. Permission to Enter Premises.
<br /> The Director of Housing Services and Community
<br />Development shall enforce the provisions of this Code.
<br />The Director, or his duly authorized~representative'
<br />upon presentation of a proper identification to a person
<br />having a right of possession or a right of entry to the
<br />premises or the authorized agent of such person, may,
<br />with the permission of such person or his authorized
<br />agent, enter a building, structure, dwelling, apartment,
<br />house or premises, during reasonable hours, where a
<br />person is in actual peaceful and unchallenged possession
<br />of the premises during daylight hours, he shall be
<br />deemed prima facie the rightful possessor until the
<br />
