openings in the structure or accessory structures shall be <br />custom cut in such a fashion as to fit snugly into the <br />window frame or door frame or other opening. Said boards or <br />material shall be painted to match the trim color of the <br />structure. <br /> <br /> d. The exterior of the premises and the condition of <br />accessory structures shall be maintained so that the <br />appearance of the premises and all buildings thereon shall <br />reflect a level of maintenance in keeping with the standards <br />of the neighborhood. <br /> <br /> e. The premises shall be kept landscaped, and lawns, <br /> hedges, bushes and trees shall be kept trimmed. <br /> <br /> f. The above duties and responsibilities are hereby <br /> imposed upon every owner of any building covered by the <br /> provisions of this article. <br /> <br /> Section 6-43. Registration and permits required. <br /> <br /> Whenever any building in the City is or hereafter <br /> becomes vacant or unoccupied and the building or any of its <br /> doors, windows or other openings cannot be securely closed <br /> by the conventional means used in the design of the <br /> building, as required by Section 6-42 herein, the owner of <br /> such building shall, within fifteen days thereafter, secure <br /> said building against unauthorized entry by boarding up or <br /> by some other approved methods; shall register such building <br /> with the Director of ~ousing Services and Community <br /> Development or his designee; and shall obtain therefor a <br /> permit. The term "Director" as used in this Article shall <br /> refer to the Director of Housing Services and Community <br /> Development. When such registration is accomplished and the <br /> fees as set forth in Section 6-45 hereafter are paid, the <br /> Director or is designee shall issue a permit allowing the <br /> building to be maintained in a boarded-up condition for a <br /> period of one month from that date. <br /> <br /> If the building is to remain vacant for more than the <br /> month for which the permit was issued, the owner shall rsnew <br /> said permit on or before its expiration date by certifying <br /> to the Director or his designee that the building is secure <br /> against unauthorized entry and that the information provided <br /> in the initial registration remains unchanged. The permit <br /> must be obtained or renewed for each month or portion <br /> thereof during which the building is vacant or unoccupied <br /> and unable to be secured by conventional means. A permit <br /> shall be issued by the Director or his designee upon receipt <br /> by the Director or his designee of the required letter of <br /> <br /> <br />
