39 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION OF <br />SOUTHERN AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission <br />has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the - <br />hereinafter-described portion of Southern Avenue, and it <br />appearing that notice of application and request for the <br />appointment of~viewers was duly advertised as required by <br />law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that A. N. Kendrick, Simon <br />P. Arrington, Richard D. Ottavio, James V. McGhee and Raymond <br />Tweed be appointed viewers, and that Harrison Miller and <br />George N. Powers, Sr. be appointed alternate viewers in the <br />event one of the preceeding viewers fails to participate, <br />said viewers to view the hereinafter-described portion of <br />such street and to report to this Council in writing whether <br />in their opinion any, and if any, what lnconvenience would <br />result in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />SOUTHERN AVENUE <br /> <br /> Ail that portion of Southern Avenue as <br />shown on the plat of "Pinners Point Waterfront <br />Company" which is described as beginning at the <br />west side of Hill Avenue and running a width of <br />60 feet, for a distance of 100 feet west to the <br />previously closed portion of Southern Avenue. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />at a meeting held April 24, 1984. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
