114 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION HONORING JACK P. BARNES <br /> <br /> W~HEREAS, Jack P. Barnes was a respected member of the <br />Portsmouth City Council for t%,enty-four years; and <br /> <br /> WHEtLEAS, his active participation and leadership con- <br />tributed to the progress of the City from neighborhood <br />preservation to waterfront development; and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, he was always willing to take time from his <br />busy schedule to discuss and promote good government with <br />any and all citizens; and <br /> <br /> WHEP~EAS, he was always willing and available to serve <br />the City on local and regional Boards and Commissions to pro- <br />mote the best interest of the City and region; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of Portsmouth have organized and <br />planned a special dinner to recognize him for'his contributions <br />of time and effort on behalf of the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Portsmouth City <br />Council salutes Jack P. Barnes and shares with the citizens <br />of Portsmouth in honoring him on "Jack P. Barn.es Appreciation <br />Night." <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution <br />be presented to Jack P.
