78 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND EXTENDING THE CONGP~.TULATIONS <br />OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH TO M~ISHA KITO <br />STITH. <br /> <br /> ~ ,,WHEREAS, Maisha Kito Stith, a 10 year old resident of <br />the City of Portsmouth, and the reigning "Miss Preteen Vir- <br />ginia" was, on June 25, 1984, named "Miss National Preteen" <br />at a pageant'in Pigion Forge, Tennessee; and <br /> <br /> -~WHEREAS, Maisha Kito Stith achieved that recognition <br />through hard work and'dedication as exemplified by her many <br />other accomplishments through numerous activities she has <br />particfpated in; and ~ <br /> <br /> ~/~WHEREAS, by her successful achievements she has repre- <br />sented the City of Portsmouth in a commendable manner.. <br /> <br /> -, ~NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City~0f Portsmouth, Virginia, that t~e Council hereby extends <br />its congratulations to Maisha Kito Stith and recognizes her <br /> named "Miss National Preteen". <br />achievements in being. ~ <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution <br />be spread upon the Minutes of the Council and a copy be <br />presented to Miss Stlth in recognition of her achievements. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held August 14, 1984. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
