76 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO THE NORTHSIDE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE NORTHSIDE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted August 9, 1966, approved a Redevelot~ment Plan for the Northside Re- development Project, Portsmouth, Virginia; and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Redevelopment Plan for the project area, which plan consists of sixteen (16) pages and two (2) exhibits; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 6 proposed to delete certain pro- perry in the project area, and change the land use in accord- ance with D-1 zoning; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those pro- hibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That A/nendment No. 6 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Northside Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Northside Redevelop- ment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment. (b) That Amendment No. 6 to the Northside Redevelop- ment Plan meets the requirements as a Redevelopment Project set forth under Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 2. That Amendment No. 6 to the Northside Redevelopment Plan for the Northside Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting.
