67 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR PAYMENT OF ONE TIME <br />SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT, 1983-84 BASIC SCHOOL AID: AUTHORIZING <br />RELEASE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 97 of the Acts of Assembly, <br />the City of Portsmouth is entitled to receive a one time <br />Supplemental Grant, 1983-84 basic school aid, in the amount <br />of approximately Four Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand and 00/100 <br />($425,000) Dollars; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 97 of the 1984 Acts of Assembly further <br />provides that the locality must make application for said <br />Supplemental Grant by releasing the Commonwealth of Virginia <br />from any claim for additional basic school aid arising out <br />of the individual income levels utilized in determining its <br />composite index of local ability to pay for the 1983-84 school <br />year, or any prior year. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, <br />authorized to make application for a one time Supplemental Grant, <br />1983-84 basic school aid in the amount of approximately Four <br />Hundred T%~enty-Five Thousand and 00/100 ($425,000) Dollars. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to release the Commonwealth of Virginia <br />from any claim for additional state basic school aid arising <br />out of the individual income levels utilized in determining <br />the composite index of local ability to pay for the 1983-84 <br />school year or any prior year. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />at a meeting held June 26, 1984. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
