AN ORDINANCE TO AMEN~ THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 38-66 THEREOF, PERTAINING <br />TO ANNUAL CHARGE FOR FIRE HYDRANTS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 38-66 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-66. Use of public fire hydrants; annual charge. <br /> <br /> Public fire hydrants shall be used for the extinguisb!aent <br />of fires. Such public fire hydrants may also be used for <br />other municipal uses with the approval of the City Manager or <br />his designee. Prior to use for other than extinguishment <br />of fires, an agreement covering conditions of use, including <br />provisions for payment of water and other costs where appli- <br />cable, shall be executed. <br /> <br /> Public fire hydrants within the corporate limits of tDe <br />City shall be paid for at the rate of one hundred dollars <br />($100.00) each per annum. Public fire hydrants located in <br />a City or town other than this City, shall be subject to <br />contract, or if no contract is entered into for such fire <br />hydrants, they shall be paid for at the rate of one hundred <br />fifty dollars ($150.00) each per annum. Rates for public <br />fire hydrants shall be payable quarterly.
