AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF BOULEVARD STREET; AMENDING RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS. WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of Boulevard Street; and WHEREAS, by a resolution of this Council ~dopted October 25, 1983, viewers were appointed pursuant to Si5.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter-described portion of said street, and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing the said street; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing said street; and WHEREAS, the resolution appointing viewers adopted by this Council on October 25, 1983, referred to said street as "Unnamed Street"; and WHEREAS, on some street maps, ~aid street is referred to as "Boulevard Street". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described portion of Boulevard Street be dlosed and vacated as a public street. Ail that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, extending from the east right-of-way line of Lee Avenue to the west right-of-way line of Industrial Avenue, and having a width of 50' (S-83-14). BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that for the purpose of clarification of' title of said property, said street shall be referred to as Boulevard Street, and to that extent, the resolution adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth on October 25, 1983, is hereby amended.
