AN ORDINANCE TO AM_END SECTION 23-66 (a) OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CIT~ OF PORTSMOUTh{, 1973, PERTAINING TO RECKLESS DRIVING. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1o That Section 23-66 ~[a) of the Code of the City. of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 23466. Reckless Driving. <br /> <br /> (a) Irrespective of the maximum speeds provided in <br />Section 23-105, any person who drives a vehicle upon a <br />street recklessly.or at a speed or in a manner so as to <br />endanger lifet limb or property of any person shall he <br />guilty o~ reckless driving; provided that the driving of <br />a motor vehicle at a speed twenty or more miles per hour <br />in excess of any speed limit provision of Section 23-105 <br />ma~' constftute ground for prosecution for reckless driving. <br />Reckless driving shall be unlawful. <br /> <br /> 2. This ordinance shall take effect from the date <br />of its adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />at a meDting held March 27, 1984. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
