AN ORDINANCE TO A~LEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, ~BY A~4END1NG SECTIONS 40-93, 40-95 (a) Ih), <br />4Q-102 .lB) (E) (F) A~D (1); PERTAINING TO HISTORIC DISTRICT, <br />SUBDISTRICT BUILDING REGULATIONS, AND CO~-~4ISSION OF ARCHITECTURAL <br />REVIEW. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That Section 40-93 be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-93. Districts created; boundaries of district. <br /> <br /> In order to execute the purposes and objectives declared <br />in Section 40-92, there is hereby created in the City, a <br />district to be known as the "Historic District," the boundaries <br />of which shall be filed and maintained in the same manner <br />required by Section 40-18 of this chapter, for other zoning <br />maps. The terms "Olde Towne" and "Cradock" are found in the <br />National Register of Historic Places and referred to in the <br />zoning ordinance maps. The term "Towne Square Historic <br />District" is found on the document referred to as "PHD-77-2," <br />dated Jmne 1977, as adopted by the Council. The term "Truxtun <br />Historic District 1918" is found on the document "PHD-79-1," <br />as adopted by a resolution of the City Council on August 13, <br />1979. The term "Port Norfolk Historic District" is found on the <br />document "PRD-83-1," as adopted by the City Council on April <br />26, 1983. The term "Park View Historic District" is found on <br />the document "PHD-83-2," as adopted by the City Council on <br />February 28, 1984. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 40-95 (a) and (b) be amended to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-95. Commission of Architectural Review. <br /> <br /> (a) In order to further execute the purposes and objectives ~ <br />declared in Section 40-92, and pursuant to the power granted to <br />and conferred upon the City, there is hereby created and establish- <br />ed two (2) con~uisslons of architectural review, one of which <br />shall be known as the Commission of Architectural Review for <br />OldeTo~ne, Cradock and Truxtun, and the other which shall be <br />known as the Commission of Architectural Review for Port Norfolk <br />and Park View, both of which hereinafter in this Article shall <br />be referred to as "Commission". <br /> <br /> lb) The Commission of Architectural Review for Olde Towne, <br />Cradock and Truxtun shall consist of seven (7) members, all of <br />whom shall be residents of the City.
