keep such records as may be necessary accurat-ety to determine <br />at any time the proportions of the total funds representing <br />the funds of the Portsmouth Fire and Police Retirement System <br />and the Portsmouth Employees Supplemental Retirement System <br />and the Port-smouth Supplemental Retirement System respectively. <br />Allocation of investment !ncome, capital gains and losses, <br />and expenses of administration of the commingled funds <br />among the three {3) systems shall be made by the custodian <br />in the ratio of the amounts of the funds of the respective <br />systems. All payments from said funds shall be made by <br />checks issued upon orders signed by such person as is <br />designated fc~r the purpose ~by the board. No order shall be <br />signed unless it has previously been authorized by the <br />board, which authorization shall be recorded on the records <br />of the board. <br /> <br />Section 31-223. Medical examiners. <br /> <br /> The board shall, from time to time, employ one or more <br />physicians, practicing in the City, upon such terms and <br />conditions as it may prescribe, who shall be known as the <br />"medical examiner" or "medical examiners" and whose duty <br />it shall be to pass u_pon all m~=dical examinations required <br />under this Article or by the board, and to investigate all <br />health or medical statements and certificates made by or in <br />behalf of any person in connection with %he payment of money <br />to such person under this Article, and shall report in <br />writing to the board his or their conclusions and recommen- <br />dations upon alt matters referred to him or them. <br /> <br />Sections 31-224 31-228. Reserved. <br /> <br />DIVISION 3. Membership <br /> <br />S~ction 31-229. Persons composing membership. <br /> <br /> Membership in this system as of any date after June 30, <br />1967, shall consist of all the employees except those who had <br />attained their normal retirement date at the date of employ- <br />ment, and for all former employees who were at any time, <br />members of the system and whose mer0~ership in the system <br />had not been terminated under the provisions hereof. Notwith- <br />standing anything to the contrary, no employee shall be a member <br />of the Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement System except by <br />making a valid election for transfer from the Portsmouth <br />Employee Supplemental Retirement System prior to December 1, <br />1984; nor shalt any employee hired (or rehired) on or after <br />December 1, 1984 be included as a member. <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br /> <br />
