1984-6~8 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF. OAST LANE; <br />CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY PROPERTY. <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING THE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, R. C. BarcIay, III and Mary B. Potter have made <br />application to vacate, close, and discontinue the hereinafter- <br />described portion of Oast Lane; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on April <br />24, 1984, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~15.1-364, Code <br />of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter-described <br />portion of said street, and to report in writing whether in <br />their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result <br />from discontinuing the said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writinq that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience wout~ result from the closing <br />and discontinuing of said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmout~ holds title to the under- <br />lying fee of said street, and the adjoining property owner has <br />agreed to purchase said property from the City for the sum of <br />Two Thousand, One Hundred Dollars ~$2,100~ pursuant to the <br />authority of N15.1-366, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, V~rginia, that the hereinafter-described portion <br />of Oast Lane be closed and vacated as a pt~bltc street. <br /> <br />OAST LANE <br /> <br /> Ail that portion of Oast Lane beginning at <br />a point on the northerly line of Queen Street, <br />which point is 190' easterly of the northeast <br />intersection of Queen Street and Primerose <br />~formerly Pearl) Street, and from said point <br />running north and parallel with Primerose Street <br />136'; thence east and parallel with Queen Street <br />20'; th.ence south and parallel with Primrose <br />Street 136' to the northern line of Queen Street; <br />thence west along the northern line of Queen <br />Street 20' to the Point of Beginning. (S-84-8) <br /> <br /> BE 1T FURTHER ORDAINED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to convey any and all right, title and <br />interest which the City may hold in and to the hereinabove- <br />described property for the sum of Two Thousand, One hundred <br />Dollars ($2,100). <br /> <br /> <br />
