AN ORDINANCE DE~YING AN APPLICATION FOR A CLOSURE OF A PORTION <br />OF PENINSULA AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Dorothy Wood has made application to vacate, <br />close, and discontinue a portion pf PeninsulaAvenue from <br />Bradford Terrace north, to Scott's Creek; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a resolution of this Council adopted April <br />10, 1984, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~15~1-364, Code <br />of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter-described <br />portion of said street, and to report in writing whether in their <br />opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result frOm <br />discontinuing said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that in- <br />convenience would result to the adjoining property owner and <br />that utility easements will be required to be maintained for <br />existing utilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended denial <br />of the application for future access to Scott's Creek in the <br />West Park View area. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the application for the closure <br />of a portion of Peninsula Avenue from Bradford~Terrace north <br />to Scott's Creek (S-84-5) be, and the same hereby is, denied. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />at a meeting held July 10, 1984. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
