moves from one residence to <br />of five dollars ($5.00) for <br />turning on the water at the <br /> <br />another, there shall be a fee <br />transferring the account and <br />new residence. <br /> <br />Section 38-77. Charges for Service Established. <br /> <br /> (a) Charges for the disposal of sewage discharged <br />into the City's sewage system will be based upon the water <br />consumed on the premises as measured by meters used for <br />this purpose at the rate of fifty-five cents ($0.55) per <br />one thousand gallons (1000), or, forty-one cents ($0.41) <br />per one hundred (100) cubic feet. The minimum charged for <br />such service shall be one dollar twenty-five cents ($1.25) <br />per month. The rate prescribed herein will be reflected in <br />all bills rendered after July 1, i986. <br /> <br />(f) Strong Waste Surcharge. <br /> <br /> Waste of domestic, industrial, garbage or other <br />origin discharged into the sewer system and which have <br />characteristics which add unduly to the cost and <br />maintenance and operation will be subject to the following <br />surcharges: <br /> <br /> Suspended solids. For the excess of <br />(250) milligrams per liter a surcharge of <br />($8.92) per one hundred (100) pounds will <br /> <br />two hundred fifty <br />eight dollars <br />be applied. <br /> <br /> Biochemical Oxygen Demand. For excess over two <br />hundred fifth (250) milligrams per liter a surcharge of <br />eight dollars sixty-eight cents ($8.68) per one hundred <br />(100) pounds will be applied. <br /> <br /> Unusual characteristics of waste will be surcharged <br />for and in keeping with such special rates as shall be <br />adopted by the City Council. <br /> <br /> The City may make an initial survey of the discharge <br />to determine the applicability of the surcharge. Based on <br />survey result, the City may institute the surcharge and/or <br />require the customer to provide such tests and equipment as <br />will provide adequate basis for the surcharge to be made. <br />Where the waste waters discharged is subject to surcharge, <br />the surcharge may be based on the normal characteristics of <br />waste from such operations as determined from industrial, <br />or chemical, or engineering tests, or other appropriate <br />references or waste water surveys of discharges from other <br />similar operations. <br /> <br /> <br />
