AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF POrtSmOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 6-24 OF CHAPTER 6 <br />PERTAINING TO BUILDINGS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 6-24 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 6-24. <br /> <br />Administration and enforcement of <br />Adoption by reference of Virginia <br />Uniform Statewide Building Code <br />Volume II. <br /> <br />Article. <br /> <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City Council for the <br />purpose of prescribing minimum standards for occupancy and use <br />of existing structures, that certain Code known as the <br />Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code Volume II, and the <br />whole thereof, save and except for such portions as are <br />hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, and the same is <br />hereby adopted and 'incorporated as fully as if set out in <br />length herein. The provisions of this article shall be <br />administered and enforced as set forth in the Uniform <br />Statewide Building Code and, in addition, shall be <br />administered and enforced by the Director of Housing Services <br />and Community Development or his designee. <br /> <br /> 2.
