AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 37-66 THEREOF PERTAINING <br />TO TAXICAB FARES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 37-66 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 37-66. Rates established. <br /> <br /> No person owning, operating, driving or controlling a <br />taxicab within the limits of the City shall charge an amount <br />to exceed the following rates of fare: <br /> <br />a) For the first one-tenth (1/10) mile or <br /> fr~a~/tion thereof ....................... $1.50 <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />For each one-tenth (1/10) mile or fraction <br />thereof in addition to the first one-tenth <br />(1/10) mile ............................. 0.10 <br /> <br />c) For each piece of baggage other than one <br /> handbag per passenger ................... 0.25 <br /> <br />d) <br /> <br />For each package unless passenger transports <br />package to and from cabs and holds package <br />on lap in transit ....................... 0.10 <br /> <br />e) For each>;footl~ck'er or trunk ............... ~ .O~50 <br /> <br />f) For each one minute of waiting time or <br /> · .f~action-thereof ....................... 0.15 <br /> <br />'Jib, hired.onion hourl.y~hasis, the rate of <br />--Nine_Dottars.($9.00) per hour or fraction <br />-thereof shall apply. <br /> <br />(h) <br /> <br />Taxi-cabs<~ee~se~in_~o~her city_mr <br />county bringing passengers into the <br />city from without or picking up <br />passengers in the city and delivering <br />such passenger to the city wherein such <br />taxicab is duly licensed shall charge <br />the rates prescribed by the city or <br />county mn which they are licensed. <br /> <br /> <br />
