AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF AUGUSTA TERRACE. WHEREAS, Albert L. Collins has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Augusta Terrace; and WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on October 8, 1985, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their oplnlon no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Augusta Terrace be closed and vacated as a public street. Augusta Terrace Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being designated as that portion of Augusta Terrace (formerly High Street) running west from its intersection with Augusta Avenue (formerly Page Avenue) for a distance of 90', and being located between blocks 2 and 10 as shown on the plat of the Portsmouth Suburban Investment Company, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 4, page 94. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth hereby reserves unto itself perpetual easements, rights and privileges to install, maintain, operate and replace public utility water lines, water mains and laterals and telephone lines within, over, under and across the hereinabove described street.
