AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF LANCASTER STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Frank C~ DeLos Reys, et al, have made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue a certain portion <br />of Lancaster Street; and <br /> <br /> WHeReAS, by resolution of this Council adopted November <br />12, 1985 v~rewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter-described portion of said street and to report in <br />writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing said street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the <br />closing and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described <br />portion of Lancaster Street be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br />Lancaster Street <br /> <br /> Ali that certain piece or parcel of land <br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, being more particularly described as <br />follows: all that portion of Lancaster Street <br />60' in width lying between the northern side <br />of Columbia Street and the southern side of <br />County Street. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, reserves unto itself perpetual easement, right and <br />privilege to install, maintain, operate and replace water <br />mains and laterals within, over, under and across the <br />hereinabove-described street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />virginia, at a meeting held January 28, 1986. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
