113 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION <br />OF A TEN FOOT ALLEY ON THE EAST SIDE OF PENINSULA AVENUE <br />BETWEEN BARRON STREET AND SPRATLEY STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Carl V. Lundquist has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described <br />portion of a certain ten foot alley, and it appearing <br />that notice of application and request for the <br />app6intment of viewers has been duly advertised as <br />required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. <br />Octavio, Charles R. Hudgins, Robert Reed, Harrison <br />Miller and Moses Gibson be appointed viewers and that L. <br />A. Clark and Emerson Smith be appointed alternate <br />viewers in the event one of the preceeding viewers fails <br />to participate, said viewers who view the hereinafter <br />described portion of such alley and to report to this <br />Council in writing whether in there opinion any, and if <br />any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and <br />closing the following: <br /> <br />Beginning at a point on the southern side of <br />a ten foot alley dividing block 12 on the <br />p~at of West Park View which is recorded in <br />map book 1, page 20, in the Clerk's Office <br />of the Circuit Court of the City of <br />Portsmouth, said point being located 180' <br />distant from the'east Side of Peninsula <br />Avenue, which said point is the northwestern <br />corner of lot 18 in said block 12, as shown <br />on said plat of West Park View, and <br />continuing from said point of beginning <br />north 85° 55'40" east along the southern <br />edge of said alley for a distance of 130', <br />+, to the low waterline of Scott's Creek; <br />~nd along said low waterline in a northerly <br />direction 10', ~, to the northern side of <br />said alley at a point on the southern lot <br />line of lot 11 in the block 12 as shown <br />on said plat of West Park View; thence <br />south 180°44'60'' west along the ~orthern <br />edge of said alley 130',+, to the south- <br />western corner of lot 7 Tn block 12 as <br />shown on said plat of West Park View; thence <br />in a southerly direction 10' to the point of <br />beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
