AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF NORTH STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter-described portion of North Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council April <br />28, 1987, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter-described portion of said street and to report <br />writing whether in their opinion any, and if any what, <br />inconvenience would result from discontinuing the said <br />described street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that in <br />their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing <br />and discontinuing of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described <br />portion of North Street be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br />A Portion of North Street <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, <br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, and being more particularly <br />described as follows: All that portion of <br />North Street abutting and lying immediately <br />north of and adjacent to the North side of the <br />cul-de-sac at the east end of North Street, <br />the western most portion of said street to be <br />closed being a point on the north side of <br />North Street 173.02 feet east of the northeast <br />intersection of North Street and Mt. Vernon <br />Avenue and said portion to be closed extending <br />eastward to the former eastern end of North <br />Street, all as is more particularly described <br />and shown on that certain plat entitled "Plat <br />Showing Disposition Parcels 153, 154, 155, and <br />157 Mt. Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment <br />Pro3ect VA R-69, Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />prepared by AML Surveying, Mortgage & Land <br />SurVeys, Portsmouth, Virginia, dated October <br /> the Clerk's Office of <br /> City of Portsmouth, <br /> page 178 and said <br /> to be closed therein <br /> reference, "See Note <br /> <br />10, 1987 and recorded in <br />the Circuit Court of the <br />Virginia in Map Book 13, <br />portion of North Street <br />being identified by the <br /> <br /> <br />
