AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 40 THEREOF BY ADDING <br />THERETO SECTION 40-57, PERTAINING TO FEES FOR PARKING <br />VARIANCES, AND BY AMENDING SECTION 40-55 (5), PERTAINING <br />FEES FOR GROUP HOUSING EXTENSIONS OR MODIFICATIONS. <br /> <br />TO <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Chapter 40 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended by adding thereto <br />Section 40-57, such new section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-57. Off-Street parking requirement fees. <br /> <br /> The Planning Director shall not accept for filing, nor <br />shall the Planning Commission or City Council consider any <br />application concerning a variance for off-street automobile <br />parking requirements unless and until a fee of fifty dollars <br />($50.00) has been paid, such fee to cover the cost for <br />advertising and processing such parking variance requests. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 40-55 (5) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-55. Group housing project review. <br /> <br /> (5) A fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per dwelling unit <br />shall be charged for processing group housing applications. <br />A fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) per application for <br />extension or modification of an approved group housing <br />project shall be charged for processing such applications. <br /> <br /> 3. That this ordinance shall take effect as of the <br />date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held June 23, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
