62 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 33-40 THEREOF, PERTAINING <br />TO GRADES AND CURVES OF STREETS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 33-40 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 33-40. Grades and curves of streets. <br /> <br /> (a) No street grade shall be less than 0.25 per cent. <br />On streets where curb, gutter, catch basins, and storm sewers <br />are not provided, no grade shall be less than 0.4 per cent. <br /> <br /> (b) The radii of curvature on the center line of streets <br />shall not be less than the following: <br /> <br />Street Type <br /> <br />Radius Of Curvature <br /> <br />Arterial 1200' <br />External Collector 650' <br />Internmal Collector 200' <br />Minor or Cul-de-sac 100' <br /> <br /> (c) A tangent at least eight hundred (800) feet long <br />shall be provided between reverse curves on arterial streets, <br />three hundred (300) feet on collector streets. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held June 9, 1987. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
